Melbourne’s East

Brothel in Burwood — Seventeen Years at Leslie Court

Purpose-built adult venues are scarce in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. Pussycats has been Burwood’s Asian brothel since 2009 — free parking at the door, prices printed rather than argued over, and a roster that changes every day.

The Only Established Asian Brothel in Burwood

Burwood sits on the eastern edge of Melbourne’s inner suburbs, and licensed adult venues out
here are thin on the ground. Most of Melbourne’s brothels cluster in the inner north and west,
which means gentlemen in Burwood, Box Hill, Glen Waverley and Mount Waverley have historically had to
drive across town. Pussycats opened in Burwood in 2009 and has held licence SWA7043BE ever since —
seventeen years at the same address, which in this industry says more than any advertisement.

The venue is at 3 Leslie Court, Burwood VIC 3125 — a quiet industrial court a short turn off Burwood Highway. That
location was chosen deliberately: no shopfront on a busy road, no foot traffic past the door, free
off-street parking at the entrance. You park, you walk in, and nobody on the street is any the wiser.

What You Get at a Burwood Brothel Rather Than a City One

  • Parking that is actually free. CBD venues put you in a $20 car park two blocks away. Here
you park at the door, no meter, no ticket, no walk.
  • A quieter arrival. Leslie Court is a dead-end industrial street. There is no queue outside,
no crowd, no one waiting behind you at reception.
  • Lower totals for the same hour. City rents get passed on. Sixty minutes with one lady is
    $230 here, room hire included.
  • Room to breathe. Suburban premises are bigger. Rooms have proper showers, and the waiting
lounge is a lounge rather than a corridor.

The Roster — Who Is Actually Working

The single most common complaint about Melbourne brothels is photographs that do not match the
person who opens the door. Every photo on our weekly roster is taken and
checked by reception, and the Today’s Girls page is updated daily.
Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese ladies rotate through — university students,
office workers, dancers, new arrivals on working holidays — so there are new faces most weeks
alongside the regulars gentlemen come back for.

If you want a particular lady, ring (03) 9808 5855 before you leave home. Reception will tell you honestly
whether she is on, when she finishes, and who is similar if she is not. Walk-ins are welcome any hour
we are open, which is every day of the year, day and night.

Getting to Leslie Court

By car, Burwood Highway runs straight past the turn-off — roughly ten minutes from Box Hill,
twelve from Glen Waverley, fifteen from Clayton or Doncaster, and about twenty-five from the CBD down
the M1 and out along the highway. Chadstone is a fifteen-minute run north-east. By public transport,
the 75 tram runs the length of Burwood Highway, and Burwood station on the Alamein line is a short ride
away — we wrote out the train and tram directions in full.

There is an ATM on Burwood Highway a minute before the turn. Cash is what most gentlemen use, for
obvious reasons; card payment is available at reception and the statement shows a neutral business
name, never the venue.

Privacy, Hygiene and the Licence

Rooms are cleaned and linen changed after every single booking — after each one, not at the
end of a shift. Showers are available before and after. Safe practice is house policy with no
exceptions, which is both the law in Victoria and the only way a venue lasts seventeen years. There
are no cameras in private areas. The old licence number, SWA7043BE, is still displayed at the venue —
Victoria has since moved to ordinary business regulation, but a venue that held one continuously from
2009 has a trading history you can look up, which is more than most can offer.

What Happens When You Arrive

You park in the court and come in through the private entrance. Reception takes you to a lounge
rather than leaving you standing in a hallway, and you are shown who is available — in person,
not from a folder of photographs. There is no pressure to choose quickly and no charge for looking. If
nobody suits, you leave, and nobody makes it awkward.

Once you have chosen, reception confirms the length of the booking and the total before any money
changes hands. Every booking starts with a shower. What follows is led by you: standard service covers
massage, kissing and full service, and many ladies also offer a genuine girlfriend experience, costume
roleplay or body-to-body massage. Ask reception rather than guessing — they know who does what
and will say so plainly.

Two-Lady Bookings

These are the house speciality and have been for years, which matters more than it sounds: pairing
two ladies who actually work well together is the difference between a good booking and an expensive
awkward one. Reception pairs by temperament, not by who happens to be free. Twenty minutes with two
ladies is $210 and a full hour is $450, room hire included. Call ahead for these — the good
pairings get booked.

The Adult Shop

There is a shop attached to the venue stocking over seven hundred products — lingerie,
stockings, toys, condoms and lubricants. You can browse the range online and
buy at the venue, which most customers prefer to a parcel arriving at home with a courier knock.

The Law, Briefly

Victoria decriminalised sex work in two stages — the first tranche in May 2022, the rest on
1 December 2023. In practice that shifted the industry from a licensing regime policed by a special
authority to ordinary business regulation: planning rules, WorkSafe, and the same health obligations
that apply anywhere else. It did not make the distinction between a regulated venue and an unregulated
one disappear. It made it easier to see, because a compliant venue now has nothing to be coy about.

It also means a licence number is now a history lesson rather than a current requirement. Ours,
SWA7043BE, dates from the old regime and is still displayed — not because the paperwork is current,
but because a venue that held one continuously from 2009 has a record you can check. What matters today
is the same three things it always did: safe practice is not negotiable, rooms should be cleaned between
bookings rather than between shifts, and the price should be stated before you commit. A venue that is
vague about any of the three is telling you what it is.

Why Regulars Stay Regulars

Seventeen years at one address in this industry is unusual, and it is not an accident of luck. The
venues that fold do so for predictable reasons: photographs that oversell, prices that move once you
are inside, rooms that are cleaned when someone gets around to it, and a roster that stops changing.
Each of those buys a few good months and costs the next few years.

What regulars actually mention at reception is less dramatic than any of that. The photos match. The
price at the door is the price on the website. Somebody remembers what they like. That is the whole
trick, and it is harder to keep up than it sounds.
